Dereck Fombe (1981)
“I was born on the 10th of October 1981 , I stay in Chitungwiza at house number 3134 Unit C Seke.Being born in a family of seven of which I am the sixth born. I am married with two sons . I did my primary education at Seke 3 primary school and secondary at Seke 2 high school. I passed four subjects .
I started doing stone carving when I was in grade 5 at the age of 11years , I was inspired by my late father who inherited art from his father. So I can say art is our family it’s a tradition in fine art sculptures .
I have 10 years of experience since I finished my secondary education in 1998. I find art work as a way to express a story or owes mind and to create . I sell my art in Chitungwiza Arts Centre.”
